Pex-Al-Pex Radiant Tubing

Pex AL Pex Tubing is the premier of all Radiant heating Tubing. The difference is the aluminum that is wrapped around the standard Pex while being extruded and welded the whole length, and then another layer of Pex is added to protect the Aluminum from abrasions.

The aluminum reflects the water temperature faster to the soil around it, a very important factor with soil heating, not as important with concrete installations The Pex-Al-Pex sold by AIM in addition also has an Ultra Violet coating that protects the Tubing in the Greenhouse environment.

There are many types of Radiant Floor Tubing available today some with Oxygen Barrier some without and they come in many sizes 3/8” 1/2” 5/8” 3/4“ 1”. This Pex-Al-Pex is backed by a 30 Year Warranty from Vanguard. – one of the world’s largest and most diversified pipe manufacturers.

Why should you have this Oxygen barrier?

The oxygen diffusion barrier prevents oxygen from permeating into the water in the tubing traveling to the Boiler and rusting from the inside out. Other parts in your system such as Circulators and Valves will also last you much longer.

Why use a different size Tubing?

The difference sizes are used when longer lengths are needed as follows:

3/8” inside diameter tubing 200 ft. loop length max.
1/2” inside diameter tubing 300 ft. loop length max.
5/8” inside diameter tubing 400 ft. loop length max.
3/4” inside diameter tubing 500 ft. loop length max.

1/2” Tubing is the tubing most frequently used because of price and ease of handling.
